Who we are
Elivation is the trading name of Elivation (Pty) Ltd (registration number 2026/371729/07), based in Johannesburg, South Africa. We are the responsible party for the personal information described here. We offer training (Elivation Training), websites and apps (Elivation Tech) and AI front desk agents (Elivation AI). This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website and our other channels, why, and what you can do about it under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

What we collect
We only collect what we need to answer you and do the work you ask for:
- Contact form: your name, email address, phone number if you give it, and your message.
- Training enquiry form: your name, email, phone number, company, the course you're interested in, number of people and any message.
- Website chat agent: the conversation you have with the agent and, if you choose to share them, your name, email or phone number and what you need.
- WhatsApp: your WhatsApp number, name as shown on WhatsApp, and the messages you send us.
- Technical data: our hosting provider keeps basic logs, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, to keep the site running and secure.
Please don't send us sensitive information (such as health, financial or identity numbers) through the forms or chat. We don't need it to respond to an enquiry.
Why we use it
- To reply to your enquiry and give you a quote.
- To deliver the training, website, app or AI agent you've asked for.
- To keep the website and chat agent working, secure and free of abuse.
- To meet our legal and tax obligations once you're a client.
We don't use your information for anything else, and we don't add you to marketing lists unless you ask us to.
Our lawful basis
POPIA lets us process personal information when you consent, when it's needed to take steps toward or carry out a contract with you, when the law requires it, or when it's in our legitimate interest and doesn't override your rights. When you send us an enquiry, we rely on your consent and on taking the steps you've asked for. Where you're a client, we rely on our contract with you. You can withdraw consent at any time.
Who else handles it
We use a small number of service providers (called operators under POPIA) to run the site and our services. They may only use your information to provide their service to us:
- Vercel: hosts this website.
- Resend: sends the emails from our contact and enquiry forms.
- Supabase: stores the enquiries you send us and website chat conversations, in our database.
- Anthropic (Claude API): powers the website chat agent and processes the conversation so the agent can reply.
- Meta (WhatsApp): carries messages you send us on WhatsApp.
We don't sell, rent or trade your personal information to anyone.
Information sent outside South Africa
The providers above are based outside South Africa. Our website server, database (Supabase) and email service (Resend) run in Ireland, in the European Union. Anthropic processes chat conversations in the United States. Section 72 of POPIA allows this when the recipient is bound by laws, binding rules or an agreement that give a level of protection similar to POPIA, or when you consent, or when it's needed for a contract with you. We use providers that commit to protecting personal information under their terms of service and data processing agreements.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiries, chat conversations and chat leads for 12 months after our last contact with you, unless you become a client. Client records are kept for as long as the law requires, for example for tax purposes. After that, we delete or anonymise the information.
How we protect it
The site uses HTTPS, access to our accounts and systems is limited and protected with strong passwords and two-factor authentication where available, and we only share information with the operators listed above. No system is perfectly secure, but if a breach affects your information we will tell you and the Information Regulator as POPIA requires.
Your rights
Under POPIA you have the right to:
- Ask whether we hold personal information about you, and get a copy of it.
- Ask us to correct information that is wrong or out of date.
- Ask us to delete information we no longer need or have no right to keep.
- Object to us processing your information.
- Withdraw your consent at any time.
To make a request, contact us by email at hello@elivation.co.za or on WhatsApp at 067 866 1214. We may ask you to confirm who you are before we act on it. There is no charge for a reasonable request.
Complaints
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa). Their contact details are on their website, inforeg.org.za.
Changes to this policy
We'll update this page when the way we handle personal information changes. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
